Morning of Day 3

What the hell? What a horrible night. Let’s count the issues, shall we?

It took me a long time to get to sleep. When I did, it was fitful with weird dreams. At 2am, I woke up with severe muscle cramps in my legs and hands. That kept me awake most of the night. I got up to let the puppy out, and my wife asked for Tylenol because she had a terrible headache. About 20 minutes after I gave her the pills, my headache started.

So what do you do when these things happen in 2020? You Google.

Guess what kids. Alcohol withdrawal.

Yep.

It turns out that when you drink, literally everyday, for a month or more, and then quit, you go through withdrawals very similar to any other kind of addiction. So even though we are very high functioning, and rarely drink enough to get drunk, we’re still experiencing the same kind of withdrawal symptoms.

Thats peachy. Its gonna be a rough couple of days.

The good news is that I got in the scale and dropped 3.5 pounds overnight. I know that this is bloat and water weight, but it is still a good thing. It doesn’t matter whether it’s bloat, fat or water, it still affects the way I feel and how my clothes fit it affects my joints and guts and mood. 3. 5 lbs down?

I’ll take it.
