Well it’s been 5 weeks since we stopped drinking. Yay for us. And someone on Twitter today asked me if this is a full-on lifestyle change or is it just something that we wanted to try for a while?
I like to say that at the beginning we were sober curious.
And we haven’t had that big conversation yet about when or if we’re going to allow it to sneak back into our lives. I think both of us decided about two weeks in that we couldn’t just do a month trial or a six-week trial or anything like that. In order to see true benefits we needed to give it three months, minimum. That’s kind of what we decided at the beginning. Now whether we go back to having a beer every now and then after the three months I couldn’t tell you right now.
If you’ve read any of this blog you know that we stopped drinking for health reasons. Not because our lives were derailed by rampant alcoholism. We were drinking too much and it was doing unhealthy things to our body.
So are we going back?
I can’t answer that right now. 80% of me wants to say I won’t drink for at least a year. 10% of me says it’s gone forever. And 10% says I’ll see what the answer to that question is in another month or two.
In the meantime back to eating healthy and the scale came down a bit this morning, which was nice. Starting to get some financial things sorted out which has been really nice. Covid-19 caused so many issues and we’re just now getting right side up. But we’ve begun paying off some debt which feels almost as good as eating healthy and not drinking. LOL
Short post today. But I have shit to do.
Peace
