7 Weeks Alcohol Free!

We have hit the seven week Mark. If you would have told me when this journey started that we would go two months without drinking I would have thought to myself that sounded like a good idea, but I am not sure I would have actually believed that we could do it. I think individually one of us could be trusted to do it. But I thought one of us would eventually cave in. And then the other one would follow.

But we didn’t. We stayed strong and we managed to make it to 7 weeks.

Feeling pretty good. Had a couple of moments here and there of kind of wanting that habit quenched. But mostly because of the Season change I think. You have to understand that I really really like pumpkin beer. And every fall for the last 15 years I wait for the pumpkin beer to come out because it’s freaking delicious. And I saw the cases in the grocery store today and felt a little sad. And I guess that’s probably normal to feel sad when something that is kind of a tradition is now not an option. I mean I guess it is an option. I could always start drinking again if I wanted to. But I’m choosing not to do that.

But I’m going to need a new tradition. And I’ve already pounded enough pumpkin spice coffee the power two or three horses with caffeine. Wonder if I could invent my own pumpkin non-alcoholic Brew.

I don’t know about that. It seems like I would make a big mess.

Well I feel good. The weight is coming off. I think Saturday weigh-in is going to be very successful. My mind is getting clearer. I have a lot more energy when I wake up in the morning. I don’t need a nap at 3 in the afternoon. So all in all it’s been a very good experience. 7 weeks down. Who knows how many more to go.

Peace
