4 month update

Hey surprise. Yeah I know it’s been quite a while since I posted a Blog on this site. I have been so busy with a bunch of stuff to begin the Fall including having a kid in distance learning and trying to find revenue streams. I mean no different than anybody else right?

As of today it has been 4 months since we stopped drinking and I have to admit it has been pretty smooth sailing. No issues. Not a lot of Temptation. I have, however, become addicted to non-alcoholic ginger beer. LOL

As of this morning I’m at 210 lb which means that is somewhere in the neighborhood of a 20 lb loss in 4 months. I wanted to be lower by now but I’m not going to sweat that. Because I have admittedly have a couple of dietary setbacks in the last month. But nothing I didn’t quickly recognize and overcome.

One thing that has been shocking to me and it’s something that I was not expecting is the fact that sugar is still such a challenge.

Sugar, it turns out, is far more addictive than alcohol or cigarettes. Quitting those things was actually embarrassingly easy. Quitting sugar on the other hand, is an absolute Daily Grind. It is amazing to me how overpowering and stress-inducing sugar cravings can be.

But we’re working through it. And I am firmly convinced that once we are able to kick sugar to the curb. The weight loss WILL accelerate. The workouts took a short few weeks Hiatus but we’re back at those. It was so difficult to work out at the end of the summer because the air was constantly filled with smoke from wildfires. But that has all blown out in the last few weeks and now things can finally get back to normal.

I don’t really have a lot to say other than the fact that if you have been on any kind of a journey and are struggling just remember that struggling is okay. Quitting is not.

Peace
